At Hicool, we are pleased to share a new success story in the education sector, where we have implemented an evaporative air conditioning solution in a university residence in Madrid. This project stands out for the improvement in the comfort of the students, the optimization of energy consumption and the commitment to sustainability.

Problem: High temperatures and high air conditioning costs

University residences require a comfortable environment so that students can rest, study and socialize in optimal conditions. However, in this case, the three-story building presented great challenges:

  • High energy consumption due to the use of air conditioning.
  • Thermal discomfort in bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms and common areas.
  • Negative effects of air conditioning, such as dryness of the environment and respiratory problems.

To guarantee the well-being of students, an efficient and sustainable solution was needed to maintain a temperature of 22ºC on the hottest days, minimizing electricity consumption

ACTION: STUDY AND PROPOSAL OF SOLUTION

Our team conducted an exhaustive analysis of the facilities to determine the best air conditioning strategy. Given that the building has an area of 1,534 m² and a volume of 4,800 m³, it was decided to implement a zonal air conditioning system, ensuring optimal cooling in the areas of greatest use.

Solution: Installation of Hicool evaporative air conditioners

To solve this problem, Hicool Hi20 equipment was installed, with a flow of 20,000 m³/h and advanced control HiControl. This solution allowed to regulate the temperature and humidity according to the needs of the space.

  • Coverage: +250 m² per unit
  • Cooling power: 22 kW
  • Material: Polypropylene injected + fiberglass with UV protection

This implementation allowed to effectively climate the ground floor and the first floor, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere in bedrooms, living rooms, changing rooms and common areas.
